Virtual Luncheon with Vice Mayor Lemus

Join us for the June Virtual Chamber membership luncheon with Windsor Vice Mayor, Esther Lemus. Vice Mayor Lemus is a member of Supervisor Gore’s Latinx leaders COVID19 focus group and will be discussing the disproportional impact of Covid19 on the Hispanic community, and challenges and adjustments in outreach to this underserved community. Latinos represent 33.1% of the population in Windsor, and 27% of the population of Sonoma County, yet they constitute more than 60% of COVID-19 cases and a striking 95% of cases under 18 years old. A recent survey by First 5 Sonoma County found that 66% of Spanish-speaking households had lost all or some of their income, versus 35% of English-speakers. Q&A of related topics to follow.
